Kansas bill would make state age discrimination apply only to people 40 and older

Kansas City Star, The (MO)-February 22, 2008
They're old enough to enlist and vote. But they would not be old enough to sue for age discrimination under a bill in the Kansas Legislature.
The House is to vote today on a measure to make state age discrimination law apply only to people 40 and older. The bar now is set at 18.
But 27-year-old Rep. Ben Hodge, an Overland Park Republican, said, "I don't feel comfortable telling a 21-year-old who can die for our country that you can't sue (like) a 40-year-old can."
